Do You Think It's Heartless for Republicans to Deny Healthcare to Millions of American Children

The Republican health care plan, as Rep. Alan Grayson so accurately described it in 2009, is “don’t get sick, and if you do, die quickly.” The Affordable Care Act of 2010, aka Obamacare, was passed by Democrats but inspired by Republican ideas of the past, including ideas promoted by Richard Nixon, the Heritage Foundation, Mitt Romney and Sen. Bob Dole. But the Republicans of 2010 are a much more extreme bunch than the Republicans of 30, 40 or 50 years ago. And their ideas on health care go way beyond heartless. They are motivated by a desire for ethnic cleansing and social cleansing, and if Trumpcare kills thousands of people (including children), they are perfectly OK with that. In fact, they welcome it because they are motivated by a deeply held belief that anyone who doesn’t make six figures is inferior and therefore, deserves to die in the streets. Paul Ryan is a loyal disciple of Ayn Rand, who considered the non-affluent “useless eaters.”
To Nixonian right-wingers of 50 years ago, Ayn Rand was a nutjob and an extremist. To the Republicans of 2017, she makes perfect sense.
Today’s Republicans are beyond indifferent or uncaring; they’re sadistic and flat-out vicious. And the more “inferior” people they kill off, the happier they will be.
